ABOUT MY POSITION

At Avalon Apparel, I worked in the Youth department for Target, Stitch Fix, and Nordstrom. Our main client was Target: Art Class. For this brand, I was responsible for ideating styles, maintaining bill of materials, printing on garments, and daily communications with the sample room and local vendors.

Seeing the Collection

I never grow tired of seeing styles that I contributed to on the shelfs or on customers! It's so surreal thinking about how, just a few months before, these were just ideas or sketches on a piece of paper. I'm very proud about my time designing for Art Class, because it was the first time I have ever designed for tweens and young girls.

The Process

Designing and Dye Sublimation

After collaborating with my senior designer and the print designers, I would then print out large sheets of our prints / graphics and sublimate them onto fabric that I chose from our large fabric supply.

I made sure that the material content contained polyester or some poly-blend, so that the dye could transfer seamlessly.
